Prints on Ice

A cooperative exhibition at Highpoint Center for Printmaking, hung in two successive years, its season kept in its name. These were the maker’s first showings of the sojourn, in the city where the wide river falls.

He had found the printmaking house the way he found most good things in the mill cities, by showing up, and had traded a website build for studio time, the best deal he ever made. The co-op made him one of its own, and its shows carried his prints in the years when the design trade held his days and the presses held his heart.

The record keeps the show’s name and its two years; what hung, it does not say. The prints were early ones, from before the copper and the acid caught up all at once.
